The SMM Music Challenge is an Artists/Producer competition for all styles. We will begin the challenge in August 2008 with a grand prize winner announced in January 2009 to give up and coming Artists and Producers a chance to showcase their talent with a chance to win a cash prize and recording contract.
The challenge, presented by Sample My Melodyz Inc., will be a ten (10) city event starting in New York and ending In Los Angeles. The first event will be held at a secret location that will be announced on this site, so keep checking back for updates.

The event consists of two parts: a showcase and a competition. Each contestant will have 2 minutes to perform. Producers can play their music and artists will have the option to play their music or perform live at the event. Competitors must bring a CD (mandatory in order to participate). All CDs will be collected. Contestants may also bring music on a laptop or iPod. The competition is set up as a two round tournament where artists and producers compete head to head and the final winners are chosen by Celebrity Judges at the event. These judges are well known producers in their respected fields. The first round will judged by audience response with the winner moving on to the next round. The tournament champion receives a spot in the Grand Championship.

There is a $25.00 registration fee in form of a 5 melodyz challenge pack that you can purchase from the site www.samplemymelodyz.com. In order to participate in the challenge your material must be produced with one or multiple melodyz from the 5 melodyz challenge pack. In order to enter the event you must bring your material and a copy of your receipt from the site. The receipt will allow you and two (2) guests to enter the venue. We accept AMEX, VISA, Discover, Master Card, and PayPal.

All contestants must upload his or her music/video to site to be judged. You must be 18 years old or older to enter. If you can’t attend the event all online entries will be judged online with the Grand Prize winner announced on the site in January of 2009

For all possible competitors: The following is a checklist of things you should have for the challenge.

  1. CD, Laptop, and IPod YOU MUST bring a CD and let us know what machine you used to make the beats or a laptop to play your music from.
  1. Beats - The event is multiple rounds, and occasionally, the crowd vote is too close to call, so competitors may be required to play a second beat to help determine the winner. So you should bring at least 2 beats to the challenge (you may bring more than 2 beats).
  1. Back-Up Disk/CD - In any situation dealing with electronic equipment, things can go wrong. Equipment can break down, disks corrupt, your friend who was supposed to loan you his ZIP drive doesn't show up, etc. So prepare yourself in case of an emergency.

Semifinalist will be announced at the events and on the site in each city with The Grand Prize Winner announced in January 2009
